Palak stands by ethnic minority group

Despite having high end technology, the developed world is still struggling to combat against corona due to the lack of leadership and coordination in planning and implementation. But with limited resources, 'competent, honest and courageous leadership' and 'with the help of technology', Bangladesh is now in a strong position on the digital platform, 'said the ICT Minister. Zunaid Ahmed Palak made the statement while participating virtually in the distribution program of scholarships and bicycles among the students in the houses and students of the small ethnic groups of Singra upazila of Natore district on Saturday 2020-21 and 2021-22 financial year. Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Shamima Haque Rozi, Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Selim Reza, Singra Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Rafiqul Islam, Chougram Union Parishad Chairman Jahedul Islam Bhola, President of Singra Press Club Mohammad Emran Ali Rana, President of Upazila Adivasi Minority Group Upendranath Sardar, General Secretary Saresh Chandra Urao and others were present at this time at the Upazila Parishad hall while the program was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) MM Samirul Islam . Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Palak said the country has gone digital in 13 years with the help of Sajib Wazed Joy, the architect of Digital Bangladesh. In the ongoing pandemic of Corona, school-college is going on, sacrificial animals have been sold at Kurbani market with the help of technology. In the last 22 months, millions of patients have received medical services through telemedicine. The government has provided police, ambulance and fire services to about 50 million people in 5 years by calling through 999. Food has been distributed among  unemployed families during Corona crisis through 333. About 90 million people have been vaccinated against coronavirus through ‘Surokkha’ app. With the help of technology, Bangladesh today stands on a digital platform. Among the students of small ethnic groups, 5 bicycles, Tk. 6000 each to 10 students and Tk. 2400 each to 30 students were given as scholarships in trhe program. Moreover, 7 garden tillers at 70% subsidy were given to 7 farmers of that community.
